ARIFA RATTANSI

As a child, Arifa was always afraid of the dark. She was scared about what was hiding behind the dark shadows. Paranoia accompanied her fear of the unknown. Her problem with the dark was that she was unable to see anything. She always thought somebody or something would jump out at her. Arifa's wild imagination led her into pursuing a career in writing. She fell in love with journalism and worked in the field for the last six years. Aside from Drop Dead, Arifa wrote for the Toronto and East York Observer and was supposed to start at Cosmetics magazine in January 2016.

Growing up, LC could be found watching horror film after horror film, relishing in every gorey detail. Her admiration for horror later led her into photography and a mild obsession with skulls. Lataevia-Ceianna Kemp has been working in journalism for over five years. Outside of Drop Dead, LC kept busy by hosting two Youtube shows, writing for Narcity Toronto, designing/managing TH Real Estate Services website & social media accounts, all while attending ballet classes at The National Ballet Of Canada.

Samantha was a beautiful soul who was known for her creative mind. Much of her life was lived watching horror films and reading scary novels. Although she wasn't one for haunted houses, she enjoyed watching and critiquing scary movies from the comfort of her own home. She did scare easily but maintained that she loved the feeling of being terrified. Samantha was a dynamite journalist. She co-founded Drop Dead, wrote for the Toronto Observer and East York Observer, hosted two YouTube shows and was always covering Toronto's best events, concerts and more.

Alex was not the biggest horror fan until she took her first steps into the haunted houses at Screamers. She began to have an appreciation for all of the aspects that are put into scary movies; the spooky lighting, special makeup FX and gloomy music. Alex loved to cover stories about everything scary, gorey and bloody but she also enjoyed working with down-to-earth people. She was an amazing photographer who found the beauty in everything. Along with being a member of the Drop Dead staff, Alex worked as a journalist for both the Toronto and East York Observer.
